Clindamycin Injection IP 2 mL is a sterile solution ampoule containing 300 mg clindamycin phosphate (150 mg/mL concentration) for IM/IV use. Half the strength of the 4 mL (600 mg) ampoule, it suits initial dosing, smaller patients, outpatient IM therapy, or when lower volumes are preferred for serious anaerobic infections (Bacteroides, Clostridium), skin/soft tissue infections, pneumonia, and sepsis. IM: 300 mg undiluted q6-12h (max 1200 mg/day); IV: dilute to 18 mg/mL, infuse over 10-20 min at 30 mg/min q6-12h; total daily 600-2700 mg adults; monitor C. difficile risk.

This lincosamide antibiotic inhibits bacterial protein synthesis at the 50S ribosomal subunit, treating serious anaerobic infections (Bacteroides fragilis), Gram-positive infections (staphylococci, streptococci), skin/soft tissue infections, bone/joint infections, and intra-abdominal sepsis.
