Acetylcysteine 600 mg Effervescent Tablet (Fluimucil , NACSYS , ACC ) acts as a mucolytic agent that breaks disulfide bonds in mucus glycoproteins, reducing viscosity and facilitating expectoration in respiratory conditions with excessive mucus. Indicated as adjuvant therapy for acute and chronic bronchopulmonary disorders (bronchitis, emphysema, bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, COPD exacerbations); also antidote for paracetamol (acetaminophen) overdose to replenish glutathione stores and prevent hepatotoxicity.
